May the Force Be With You - Star Wars

r2d2 is made of three 6" rounds and half a ball pan. I wasn't sure if it needed dowels but in the end decided to just stack the cakes. They stayed upright and didn't collapse so I guess it was the right decision :)

Angry Birds

When Lisa sent me a photo of an Angry Birds cake she was looking for I was super excited! I love bright and colourful schemes. I am not sure where the original picture came from (let me know if it's yours) but here is my version.

Toopy & Binoo

I had a hard time keeping their names straight but I think I finally have it, Toopy & Binoo! I loved this cake as I got to carve a sofa out of cake which brought out the Interior Designer in me. (Which is my full time job.) Though I am not sure I have used a sofa that colour in any of my other projects it worked perfect for a colourful two year old's birthday party.

Topsy Tealy

My first attempt at a Topsy Turvy cake was a success! Thanks to Jackie at Cake Central for the tutorial,  it really made the stacking process go smoothly. Rolling all the fondant balls was time consuming but turned out to be my favourite part. A whimsical cake for a wonderful girl! Happy Birthday Tenley!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope all our Canadian friends have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Don't end up in a turkey coma!

You Old Fart!

I never thought I would be striving to make the perfect butt cheeks. But when we were asked to make a funny cake for a 50th, 55th, and 60th birthday party, the idea of a butt crack seemed perfect! We used two 10" x 10" square cakes and the Wilton Sports Ball pans (partially filled) worked perfectly for the cheeks.

Horsing Around

This adorable equestrian cake was inspired by Blue Cupcake. It was my first attempt at a horse theme and I think it turned out pretty good. I especially love the pig-tails!
